At a Northern Ontario gold mill, sections of a lime-slurry distribution network were blocked and no longer practical to recover through routine cleaning. A like-for-like replacement risked carrying the same circulation, isolation and maintenance limitations forward.

As the work evolved to serve multiple process destinations, Creative GOAT used 3D laser scanning to capture measured conditions and coordinate multiple routes around existing structure, equipment, services and access. The point cloud was only the starting point.

The story

The Challenge

Sections of a lime-slurry distribution network at a Northern Ontario gold mill were blocked and no longer practical to recover through routine cleaning. Once a restriction formed, the network offered limited ways to separate the affected run, remove retained slurry, flush promptly after shutdown or reach hardened material mechanically.

Our Approach

Three-dimensional laser scanning created a measurable record of the operating mill. Piping routes, valves, instruments, maintenance access, supports and cable-tray interfaces were developed together. The proposed routing was checked against measured conditions and documented through coordinated P&IDs, layouts, isometrics, schedules and support details.

The Result

Creative GOAT supplied one coordinated brownfield package, not simply another piping model. It connected field evidence, supplied process and pump information, 3D routing, maintenance provisions and implementation details in one project record.
