Mining & Heavy Equipment

Keep Critical Equipment Running

When a worn or obsolete part threatens to stop production, original drawings are rarely on hand. We 3D scan the part you have and rebuild it into a clean, manufacturable model — so you can re-machine, repair, or upgrade without going back to the original OEM.

Where it earns its keep

Where 3D scanning pays off in mining

Obsolete spare parts

Bring discontinued or unsupported parts back into production by scanning a worn original and reconstructing the required geometry, with the reconstruction basis stated.

Worn & damaged components

Where a component is worn or damaged, we develop the required replacement geometry from the measured condition, unworn regions, mating interfaces and available records. The reconstruction basis, assumptions and limits are stated.

Heavy equipment retrofits

Scan buckets, frames and wear surfaces to design custom liners, guards and upgrades around measured conditions, with interfaces checked where the scope includes them.

Field & on-site capture

Capture equipment and installed conditions where they are — underground, in the mill, or in the shop — to support reverse modelling and retrofit planning.

Deliverables

What you walk away with

01

Registered point cloud

A measurable 3D record of the visible surfaces captured at the agreed coverage and detail.

02

Reverse-designed parts

Worn or undocumented components rebuilt to a documented reference geometry your shop can work from.

03

Manufacturable CAD models

Clean, parametric models your shop or supplier can machine, cast, or fabricate from directly.

04

Equipment and interface documentation

Drawings, sections, reference geometry or model views developed for the defined repair, replacement or retrofit decision.

The process

How a scan project works

01

On-site scan

We bring portable scanners to approved underground, mill, shop or other site locations and capture the visible conditions at the coverage and detail defined for the project.

02

Register & process

We stitch the scans into one accurate, measurable point cloud.

03

Model & deliver

We turn the data into the CAD model defined in your project scope.

Why us

How Creative GOAT supports mining and mill projects

Mining and mill environments often require repairs, replacements and retrofits to move forward without complete or reliable drawings. Equipment may be worn, previously modified or installed in conditions that no longer match the original documentation. Before new components can be designed or fabricated, the existing equipment and its critical interfaces must be properly understood.

Creative GOAT supports this work by bringing portable 3D laser scanning directly to underground operations, mills, maintenance shops and other active industrial environments. Capturing equipment in its installed condition reduces the need to remove or transport large components simply for measurement and provides a reliable geometric reference for the next stage of the project.

Our Northern Ontario experience includes underground and mill capture, brownfield piping coordination, equipment reconstruction and mechanical design support. This may involve documenting worn or damaged components, capturing surrounding piping and structures, identifying critical connection points, or developing CAD models to support repair and retrofit planning.

Every project begins with a review of the component, work area and intended use of the information. Together, we define the visible and accessible conditions to be captured, the required reference basis, the expected CAD model or documentation, and any dimensions or conditions that will still require field verification.

Depending on the project, deliverables may include registered point-cloud data, existing-condition CAD models, equipment reconstruction, dimensional documentation or comparison information. The scope and schedule are confirmed during the project review based on site access, component complexity and the level of detail required.

Whether the work involves a single component, a brownfield piping modification or a larger equipment retrofit, Creative GOAT provides measured field data and practical documentation to help maintenance, engineering and fabrication teams move forward with greater confidence.

Still deciding?

Have a part or machine to bring back into production?

Whether it can be moved or must remain where it operates, we capture its existing condition and develop usable 3D information for repair, replacement or fabrication.
